I recently got diagnosed with alopecia and have been rapidly losing my hair. I've always loved my full curly hair and I was devastated at how I look now. My doctor recommended Sue at Vanilla in Ilkley as she had gone with a friend. As soon as I talked to Sue I knew she was going to help me and bring back my confidence. Within 2 appointments I chose my beautiful new wig with help, empathy, experience and humour from Sue. She just puts you at ease and you know you're in good hands. If you are going through anything similar I cannot recommend her enough. She's given me my life back!

Having started chemotherapy I was keen to get a wig as soon as possible, but didn’t really know how to go about the process. Sue was so patient and informative about the whole process of choosing a wig I immediately felt confident I was in the right place. As my hair was already coming out she made sure to see me as soon as possible, and helped me find a selection of wigs in the right colour and style. Once they arrived in store I was able to take my time trying them on and happily found one I felt really comfortable with. There was no hard sell, just a lot of support and advice. Having experienced hair loss over a number of years and with the realisation that the problem would not go away, I approached Sue for advice on wigs. The whole process was extremely uplifting. Sue was so positive and encouraging. She spent time listening to my concerns and seemed to understand exactly what I wanted to achieve. She sent for several wigs for me to try at my second visit and explained how to fit them and care for them. Her advice is always clear and to the point. There was no pressure to buy. I am thrilled with the one I chose. It is comfortable and very close to my original style and colour only better! Early days yet, but I have had several compliments about my "new look", the colour, the cut etc. A few close friends and family know that it is a wig and are amazed by it. Finally, Sue is very approachable and always responds really promptly to phone calls and emails which of course makes everything run easily.
