The place and location and all as good but the thing I disliked was the lady serving the fudge, the was so sour and cold. I would have been a bit happier if she was more warm and welcoming then she appeared to be... Other then that it's a good unique place to go.

Sweet goo. Was cool to see it being handmade. Some unique flavours. Very sweet. The texture was a bit grainy rather than squishy.

Can smell it before you can see it!

I used to always go here with my mum and nanny when I was little and we would always watch the fudge being made and have a taster sample and bags used to be about £2 but things change; it's hit n miss if you see them making fudge or not there's no samples and the price has gone up like everything has these days.
Range from £4 for 100g or choose your own which ends up being between £4 and £5 for selecting different flavours. Gift bags and boxes available.

I feel that some flavours taste the same but it is fresh, creamy and sweet and for the memories and the moments I shared with my nanny is more important

Nice gift idea and a must go to and try in Ilfracombe

Order over the phone too

Wonderful fudge that tastes more like Scottish tablet, crumbly rather than squidgy. Flavours taste rich and exactly like their description. Be aware that this store may be open longer hours than stated on Google hours, which was a happy find for us! As the weather was good and people were about, it was still open at half six on a Monday. One of life's little wins!

The most revolting fudge we have ever tasted, it was inedible. Got a £20 bag of all mixed flavours, me and my family have never tasted anything so sweet and full of sugar, and that was just having a tiny nibble.
Even my son who has got the most sweetest tooth, couldn't even eat this, and that's saying something.
Was really looking forward to this after our holiday, but was unfortunately only fit for the bin.
I can't understand why people have put good reviews, as it tasted like it had 100 bags of sugar in one piece.

I popped into Roly’s on our day of departure from Ilfracombe yesterday and I was the only customer in the shop, I asked a couple of questions before buying two small packs of overpriced fudge and the young woman serving me behind the counter was hostile in her responses towards me, which my husband also noticed waiting outside by the door. I maintained a friendly manner in response, and despite the hostility even bought two packs of fudge which I didn’t need to do given that A I was treated with contempt and B how overpriced it was. £4.40 for about 150g weight which is one small bag, so at these prices be kind.

I haven’t yet eaten the fudge, and one pack will be a gift to my mother, but I just wanted to review the hostile treatment I was given which I should’ve commented on at the time, but given that behaviour isn’t about me and more about the person dishing it out I couldn’t be bothered to say anything. If Roly’s are reading this then please be courteous to your customers, a smile goes a long way.

UNHELPFUL! THEY LACK INTER-PERSONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS!
DO NOT EVEN EXPECT A SMILE!
First tried this shop a couple or so years ago and shocked by the unhelpful lady in there, who was very sterned face on my customer enquiry.
I asked if I could have a box of fudge made up please, using my choice of available fudge flavours . I was told I could only purchase their own pre-packed selction boxes, which I did not want due to certain flavours obviously unwanted,

I HAVE HAD OTHER ROLY'S FUDGE SHOPS BEING SO HELPFUL IN DOING THIS AND EVEN ASKING IF I WANTED MY BOX OF FUDGE, ASKING WHICH COLOURED PAPER AND RIBBON I WOULD LIKE....... (FLAVOURS I CHOSE MYSELF AND NOT THE SHOPS' PREPACKED AND THEIR CHOICE OF VARIETY FUDGES) .

DO NOT EXPECT THIS SERVICE AT THIS SHOP!!

Moving on a couple or so years now, I paid another visit to this shop , in the hope things have improved.
How wrong was I ?!

Asking the same question, could they possibly make up a gift box with My Own Selection Of Flavours?

The answer from the man serving me, was basically "No!" . Only boxes at back of shop already done and left. AGAIN!! No smile!! Totally unhelpful like the woman a couple of years ago.

So I said "Forget it"

They should remember that it is their customers who keep them in business and try and be more helpful! Just Miserable.............

UPDATE: Thank you for your reply of the 1st November 2022 (BELOW).

* Firstly, whilst I appreciate the shop was running down it's stock and there were a lack of flavours, I was asking and hoping they could make me up a gift box of the 'selected flavours that they DID have.
This was NOT offered to myself upon asking, so I considser this VERY UNHELPFUL, as I am sure you will appreciate.

* Secondly, Whilst I appreciate Natasha's Law, I have had other Roly's Shops who have gone out of their way to be so helpful and put the relevant food labelling on with my selection of flavours. I also appreciate and realise the shops are independently owned.

* Thirdly, this was the second visit to this shop as mentioned above and they were mid season on my first visit a couple of years ago, but still hardly a smile. Not a the nicest shopping experience I am sorry to say, after giving them a second chance after a couple of years on and sadly finding things still the same.

Thank you for your apologies though. Have a lovely day too :))
