We visited as a party of five to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The staff were warm and attentive, and the atmosphere and location were excellent, creating a lovely setting for the evening.

Service was generally good, though there was an issue with the timing of the starters — they were brought out at different times, which meant most of the table had finished before one guest received theirs. Once served, however, the starters were well received and enjoyed by everyone. I had the calamari, which was beautifully presented and paired with a sublime aioli dip.

For my main course, I chose the sirloin steak salad. The steak itself was tender and full of flavour, but the salad was disappointing, as it was both overly dressed and lacking in variety.

On a more positive note, the drinks were excellent and perfectly prepared. Overall, while there were some inconsistencies with the food and service, the welcoming staff, atmosphere, and drinks made it an enjoyable evening.

First visit to The Brook for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The menu is massive, including cooked breakfasts, salads, french toast, pancakes and a multitude of egg dishes. Plenty of options for veggies and we tried the vegetarian breakfast salad and the Eggs Cyprus. Both presented well and tasted amazing. Service first class and the restaurant looks amazing. Definitely give this one a try.

Wow! Highly recommend the breakfast to everyone! We’ve been here before for dinner and it’s always 10/10. We come this morning for breakfast and we were not disappointed. We had a few different things off the menus and it was all so good. The service is great and the atmosphere made my morning.
Any who visit the brook needs to have an amaretto sour. Hands down best drink I’ve had anywhere and it’s so drinkable leave room for at least 3.
Thank you guys. I’m sure we’ll be seeing you again very soon.

Another fantastic visit with a couple of friends for a late lunch. We ate off the 2 courses for £21.95 menu and the food was superb, especially the desserts! I thought the dessert I had on my last visit couldn’t be beaten but the summer Eton mess was to die for! Great value for money and lovely staff. I can’t recommend this independent restaurant enough. Looking forward to eating in the new garden area next time if the weather is better!

Spent a wonderful New Years Eve at the Brook Bistro.
We always enjoy coming here as the food is great and they are very dog friendly.
3 course meal at £49.95pp was good value for money but a glass of spritz/mocktail on arrival would have been a nice touch.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal (scallops, monkfish, lemon posset). My lemon posset was slightly runny at the bottom, don't think it was quite set. The flavour was gorgeous though.
Overall, we loved our evening and would consider spending new year's eve there again.

Food was delicious, nice varied menu and very reasonably priced. We had a starter, main, pudding and one alcoholic drink each which with a 10% service charge came to just over £50 a head. Ate here while staying in Cardiff for just one night and absolutely made the right choice! Sorry we're not closer to come back again!

The staff managed to get myself and my daughter in what looked like a busy Saturday morning.
A lot of people in enjoying brunch and quality grateful for the seat.
Staff were amazing, thank you.
A few people came in after myself looking for tables that weren't available.
Food and menu looked good, will be back for some food and I'll book a table this time.

We were a group of 7 adults and one toddler visited for brunch.

Food was overall average. Unfortunately, there were lipstick stains on a couple of our coffee cups which were promptly replaced after we raised it.

Staff were attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was lovely.

Lots of exciting options on the menu.
