As a tourist/visitor to the Isle of Wight I popped in yesterday [01/06/24 around 11.45am] to grab some lucky dips for the lottery. I stood behind a person who was packing up their bags. The person behind counter clearly saw me there the whole time, I saw no problem in that, as no one else was queuing - plus there were no signs clearly saying where to queue.

I went to step forward and he asked 'Are you in the queue?', I said 'Yes'. He looked right and apologised to the older person in the queue (who joined probably 15 seconds before I went forward). The person serving me was rude, no eye contact, no please, thank you or even have a good day, nor did they even attempt to say 'Excuse me, if you're queuing, please can you queue this way' during the time of waiting to be served.

It felt like I upset this persons OCD by not being in the right part of the queue and became their archnemesis in less than 30 seconds. This is NOT how you do customer service, I will not be stepping foot in this coop again!

Worst experience ever . A man tried to steal something and one member of the staff shouted at him from the top of her voice for about half an hour. A child was crying because she scared him, my children were distressed and it was a horrible experience. The person who was trying to steal, was quiet, did not talk back, he suggested for her to ring the police. She refused and kept shouting . She was having a full on temper tantrum which left all the other customers in the shop very uncomfortable. After this They have refused to give student discount to my daughter even though she is a student and had her student card and I’d with her. These people in this shop should not work in retail and this needs investigating.

It closes at 8! How is that convenient? The larger coop 1 minutes walk away closes at 10! Edit- this is no longer relevant. Their hours have changed.

Live locally and always use this co op, it's cheaper than the big one, always stuff on reduced here too, open til 11pm, also has a post office with banking facilities, open late on Sunday too
