Very disappointing after visiting for many years and never had reason to complain before. The first shock was that at 7pm on Friday night it was very quiet but thought at least we wont take long to be served. The waitress attended to take drinks order and when asked what wine they had we were told by the waitress 'I dont know as cant pronounce any of them'...so we ordered drinks at the bar. The waitress took food order. We waited almost an hour but hoped that meant the food would be freshly cooked. Our starter didn't turn up before main meal, apparently this was our fault as ordered them together. She also said they were busy......we were the only people in dining area. We were given fries when asked for chips, the food was clearly re heated as dry, very small fish with greasy batter, one portion of fries were cold. 6 of us eating and only 3 meals arrived. Waited to speak to waitress but she didn't return. the chicken parmos were dry and not cooked fresh. Due to lack of service or care we cancelled rest of meals and left, we were offered no apology. Disgusting service as well as poor meal quality. Will not return, we had to find somewhere else to eat Friday night at 20:15hrs. Not an experience I would want to repeat. Appreciate they have new owners but they need to get basics right otherwise the business won't survive.

Very disappointing. Took my elderly mother out for a special occasion. One waitress who got our drinks was attentive but another was quite rude. The waitress in question was serving tables who arrived after us, and when I asked if she could take our order she replied she already had 3 tables to serve. It was a quiet midday afternoon and the restaurant wasn’t busy.
We noticed there was a small carvery on and we asked another male waitress about it as it wasn’t on the menu and he walked away saying he was new and didn’t know!
Eventually the original attentive waitress returned and she advised that we could just go to the carvery when we were ready, which we did. There were only 3 plates at the side and very cold. As we didn’t have much time left for our meal I just plated the food up and took my mams food to her as she is disabled. We chose the steak casserole. The cutlery on the table was dirty and also when I started to eat it the food, it was stone cold and tasted awful!
I didn’t want to complain at the time as my mam lives in Prudhoe and didn’t want to make a scene and embarrass her. However felt I needed to write a review as the management need to get their place in order to prevent this from happening again. Needless to say, I won’t be taking my mam back.

My parents and I visited this pub this afternoon, I wanted to treat my dad for his birthday. We hadn't been to the falcon for ages. We were informed when we first went in that if we wanted food it had to be carvery. We stood at the carvery counter and some of the veg didn't look very nice at all. The peas were all different shades of green, there were no roast potatoes and they brought a fresh batch of cauliflower cheese out while we were stood waiting to be served. It should have been steaming hot. I put some on my plate and it was freezing cold. The whole meal was luke warm, some of the carrots were hard and some were soft so they had obviously been topping up the old carrots that had stood with fresh carrots. We were offered a 50% discount and a bottle of wine. We were so disappointed because we had been to the falcon pub many times before and the meals were outstanding. We won't return after our experience today.

Just had Afternoon Tea for two. Absolute bargain at £15 each. 12 finger sandwiches, fruit scone, jam & cream, cheese scone & butter, 6 mini cakes, pot of tea & glass of bubbly. Excellent value. A very affordable treat. The scones were gorgeous & all freshly made.

My husband and our dogs visited The Falcon for their Winter Warmers Special last week. I had the beef stew and hubby had the mince and dumplings. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and they were so friendly to our dogs - they enjoyed their treats and a fresh bowl of water. The food was hot, delicious and plentiful! Good old fashioned home cooked grub !The pub had a cosy and friendly atmosphere and the food and drink was reasonably priced. We will definitely be visiting again on our next trip to Prudhoe as this was just what we all needed after a cold winter walk in the woods directly opposite the pub. The new owners have definitely made this pub a welcoming hub and we are excited to become a part of their regular community! We’ll be back soon!

Food has gone horrendously downhill. Fish wasn't cooked and was like jelly. Replaced with fish finger sandwich which was plain white bread and fish fingers that I could have easily made at home.

Service and staff friendly enough as it wasn't their fault but no apology from management and had to ask for the fish to be removed from the bill. Other meals were edible but nothing more.

Well now - Sunday lunch - we arrived at 2.30 for a carvery meal. Went to the bar where we bought our drinks from the surliest, most graceless barman I've ever encountered. Back in my barmaiding days I would have been sacked for such a customer unfriendly attitude.. Then he told us there wasn't much meat left in the carvery and he wasn't wrong. My companion managed to glean 2 forkfulls of pork but there was nothing else available at the 'carvery.' Fair enough - the management underestimated its custom- but it should not expect full payment for a carvery meal if there isn't actually a carvery. We were not offered a discount for the lack of carvery, or given any alternative protein. On to the vegetables - the carrots were undercooked, the cauliflower cheese was virtually cheese-free and there were no roast potatoes. Everything was tepid. It was the most miserable meal I have ever eaten. According to their website - things may not be up to scratch during a menu 'Transition' period. This was a 'Transition' period. So the best advice would be -if you want to give your custom to the Falcon, wait until they're out of their 'Transition' period - that way you may, unlike us - get your moneysworth, although I won't be risking it again.

We visited over a year ago and it was lovely, I do not know what has happened since but We visited the falcon tonight and I was so disappointed with both the quality of the food and the service surrounding mine and my toddler's meal.
My main dish the Mince and Dumplings was of an extremely poor standard. The flavor and texture was like of tinned food completely unacceptable for the price and far below the quality expected from a restaurant.
the most frustrating part of the meal was the repeated failure to deliver the correct food for my hungry toddler.
We ordered Mac and Cheese. The kitchen sent out a different dish plain cheesey pasta and only then did the server inform us "oh We don't have that” The substitution was made without consulting us which is unacceptable service.
After ordering a replacement of Fish Fingers and Chips, the kitchen substituted this again bringing out Fish Goujons and Chips. Again, we were not informed or asked.
Because of this constant lack of communication and substitution errors, my toddler could not eat her meal and left hungry. The combination of an extremely poor quality of an adult meal and the total failure to provide an edible & correct meal for a child made for a truly disastrous and overpriced experience. Says something when you have to go to McDonald’s after going to a restaurant.
