I can NOT pass comment on the star rating for the rooms because I've not stayed there. However, if the service and location are anything to go by, then the rooms will be worth a 5 star rating. What I can say is that the service is wonderful, the landlady, Helen, is lovely, and the food is plentiful. Hence, my mum and I enjoy going back there. We were booked in there for a Christmas meal on the big day at a cost of £95 p/h for a 5 course meal. (In my opinion, that is a fantastic value for money. They also, as a rule, don't hold wakes there, but they did hold my dad's wake there. So in my opinion you could very much enjoy a meal there. They're also a free house.

Popped in to the George for a drink and a meal. Although in hindsight we should have booked it was busy. The person who served us Jack was accommodating and did everything to help us enjoy our meal, the staff generally were polite and friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening. Thoroughly recommended

We used the function room at The George for a 60th birthday meal and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening.
Helen and the other staff were so friendly and welcoming towards us and nothing was too much trouble. The function room itself was a great space.
The food was delicious, our party included several vegans and vegetarians and there was a good selection of choices on the menu for everyone.
We would absolutely recommend The George to anyone looking for great food in a friendly environment.

First time visiting this pub as we just moved to the area. Greeted on arrival and seated straight away, we had a dog with us and we were put in a nice quiet area by the fireplace. Service was quick and friendly, we were served by a few different people, all very pleasant. We both had a roast dinner, my wife the beef and myself the pork belly, both were lovely, the pork belly was probably the nicest I've ever had, very tasty and a generous amount of veg. Even the roast potatoes were spot on. The puddings are also lovely, lots of choice from some classic desserts. We'll be returning as we really enjoyed the food. The only negative was that once we had eaten we had to chase for the bill and then to pay as we seemed to be forgotten about as it got busier but other than that it was lovely. Would recommend.

Love this pub! We booked a table for 5 last night. The food was fantastic, really reasonably priced considering the quality of the food. Excellent choice on the menu, everything was fresh and delicious. My dad had the pie which was epic! I had the fish and chips. The specials all sounded delicious but i fancied some good pld hearty pub food. The staff are all absolutely brilliant. Really attentive, friendly and so warm and welcoming. This place is an absolute gem. Can't wait to come back again. Claire and family (including Oscar the dog)

A lovely pub and great staff! We had some very nice beers, a lovely dinner, and when we were stranded without a taxi, one of the staff actually gave us a ride to our accommodation.

Had dinner here on Saturday evening after going to Twickenham stadium to watch England v Australia. The dinner was superb and service was exceptional. The staff are friendly and not afraid to have a laugh. A small village with a big heart (pub).
