We visited this pub around 4 years ago on a stay in Alnwick, now we were returning I knew I wanted to go back here! The food is proper home cooked pub food, the steak pie is not to be missed. The service was so friendly, they were so good with our little boy who enjoyed his sausage & potatoes from the children’s menu!
Can’t wait to come back

Recommended this place by @coastalcustodian , and were not disappointed. Ordered food , and drinks at the bar ( where staff are friendly and welcoming ).
The signature Sunday lunch ( trio of meats with veggies ) was amazing .
Served outside under covered seating area , completely dog friendly ( with water available for a four legged companions ).

Vegetables were cooked perfectly and nice and warm ( Savoy cabbage , fine green beans , carrots , cauliflower, mashed potatoes and roast potatoes) .
Trio of meats include - roast turkey , pork loin and beef with stuffing and an enormous Yorkshire pudding .

No booking is available ( walk in only ) , and considering we walked in at 1220hrs and it was heaving - is a testament to how good this place is . Well done The Masons Arms , and your amazing chef , staff and bar staff .

This place is phenomenal!! We stopped by as we was passing the area, this was much to our delight! The filet steak was absolutely amazing. I would go as far as saying the best steak I’ve had! The starters were immaculate too. Portion sizes were generous. Service was great and the venue had a nice atmosphere. We live around an hour away but I have a feeling we will be making the journey back to visit more often.

We usually like visiting here for the real ale but it hasn't been to our taste lately. Always had a laugh with regulars but as the beer wasn't suitable for us we didn't stay long. Fancy trying a Sunday lunch sometime as we hear they are great value.

Stayed in a Family Room on Thu 2 Sept '21, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. To say the room was spacious is an understatement, but it felt homely not vacuous. The fact you come and go via the back door keeps you totally separate from the actual pub, not that it's a pub to avoid, far from it, all I mean is that you don't feel like your stopping in a room above a pub, it feels more like you've got your own flat in middle of town. Seriously, it's excellent and unbelievable value, wouldn't hesitate to recommend, especially for families. Breakfast is superb as well.

Called in for Sunday lunch.
Food was first class. We are not big eaters so went for the smaller portion. They were very generous portions no way could we have handled the standard
lunch and really well cooked. The beer garden is sheltered and they serve pizza I think after 5pm. Will definitely be back.
