Very quaint deli, had a great experience in the shop, with very friendly colleagues inside the shop. Ordered a Reuben sandwich and it was delicious, the ingredients were really fresh and you can tell they sliced all the meat and cheese fresh. A great place to get lunch then sit by the water and relax.

Maybe the cafe itself isn’t as bad as what I’m about to write, but the girl who served me had an attitude. I picked up on it straight away. The fake friendliness was totally transparent. I ordered a black Americano, one of the large flapjacks that were in the glass food cabinet at the counter, and specifically a ‘small’ hot chocolate for my 8 year old daughter. After the fake greeting, the girl passed me the card machine and asked me to follow the on screen instructions, which unbelievably asked for a tip before I’d received any of the items I intended to purchase, or anything worthy of describing as ‘service’. After ignoring the tip instructions on the card machine, I thought to myself ‘what can I expect now for not giving a tip?’, particularly as I’d already picked up on the poor manner of the girl serving me. I politely asked her if I could have the flapjack on the side of the pile on display, as it looked less greasy than the ones next to it, which she could have easily given me. But no, her response was ‘I’m afraid I have to take them from the top’. Something I’ve never heard anyone say in any other cafe. So for the sake of just getting on with it, I said OK. My daughter and my sat down and were served out drinks and the flapjack. The knife and fork we were given were dirty so we didn’t use them and we were also not provided with any serviettes / tissues. My daughters hot chocolate was enormous and certainly not small in any regard. She said it tasted weird which it did, just too milky and bitter. I returned it to the counter and instead of apologising, the girl just gave me excuses. I demanded a partial refund for the hot chocolate which amazingly she gave me as by then she probably realised I wasn’t your average lay down and take it customer.

Just popped in today, as visiting from the midlands, to see what the cheese selection was like. I found the range extensive and well stored and matured. The service given was professional and excellent, with the owner(?) having an in depth knowledge of the local cheeses which we wished to sample and buy. The Norfolk Fen Fosey and Wissington cheeses we bought are both excellent and we will enjoy them all the more for the full explanation and tasting notes given during our sampling. Many thanks, I wish we had something of this quality in our town.

I was in Hunstanton about 3-4 weeks ago. I had a look around in this shop and a guy who was working there with glasses hanging on his nose was there. I liked their coffee beans and mentioned it as I sometimes use the same company. The guy who I assume is the owner, was bold and hard to get something out of him, just to smile was an effort for him. You could have cut the atmosphere in there with a knife. I noticed some cheese in the fridge which had glass doors where all the cheeses are kept. At this specific glass door, the cheeses were wraped with a price tag on it, assuming I can take it out myslef. As I tried to open the fridge door, it was locked. This man started to shout at me, telling me not to touch the fridge doors and telling me aggresively how expensive those fridges are, £12000 worth. He came round with an agressive manner been so rude and asked me angrily if I want to buy it, and also mentioned in a rude manner that the cheeses in the fridges are not self service. I was so shocked and couldn't believe my eyes how the owner of this shop treated me as if I was in his way. I then told him how rude he his and maybe it's a good idea to put a sign on there that all the doors are locked and ask for assistance. He then shouted at me, saying they don't need a sign on there. By that time I was already walking out of his shop. To add insult to injury, there was another customer in the shop when this all kicked off, and he couldn't be bothered acting like this in front of potential customers. If you go and look on the reviews on TripAdvisor for this shop and the cafe, its worse than the Google reviews. I have also noticed how the owner attack the people who leave nagative reviews, like it's never their fault. The reviews speak for itself. Shame on you and I am surprised your shop is still open, as it is always quiet compare to the other shops in Hunstanton. Now I know why when you read the reviews.

Stopped by today, lovely shop with lots of tasty looking food 🥘. Apparently they do luxury picnics- I must check that out as a special treat. Bought a bottle of cider for me and a bale of local ale for him indoors. They do takeaways as well- online ordering during covid19 and takeaway coffee.

I'm posting this again here on Google reviews as the same review appears to have not been published on the website. How strange.

I have thought long and hard about sending this review as my mum always said, "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". However, we purchased some cheese from the website with the next day delivery option - as suggested on the website due to the item being perishable. Next day delivery infact turned out to be 3 days later! I ordered on the Monday, was told by the Norfolk Deli that they had fresh cheese coming Wednesday and that it would be sent then. It was. The delivery on the Thursday was then "delayed" by the courier and when I emailed the Norfolk Deli to say I was a bit concerned - I found the email response to be dismissive of the "next day delivery" price I had forked out for and was basically told - "it's out of our hands - like posting a letter". I was assured that it would be OK as it was packed with a freezer pack and moisture absorbing packaging. On Friday, on my way out for the day, bearing in mind the cheese had initially been ordered on Monday for next day delivery, the parcel arrived. Luckily I was home to receive this as the cheese arrived warm, the freezer pack was warm and the absorbant packaging hadn't really been very successful! It would have sat for the day on my porch if I had not been home to put it straight into the fridge. The cheese was OK but tainted with suspicion whilst it was consumed due to it's prolonged transit. At the price I paid, discarding it wasn't an option! I won't be risking this company again. Their "next day delivery" suggestion - forget it!!
