Simon took the time to listen to what I wanted to use the telescope for and recommended everything I’d need to suit my budget. He’s also took many calls from me since while I was setting up and using my telescope for the first time, educating me on what I needed to do. (This is my first telescope).

Bought two telescopes from here over the last year or so. First telescope we bought, they held for me, after our initial enquiry and had it ready for us when we got there. The second telescope, ordered at the beginning of January and we were kept informed, they answered questions very promptly and very promptly informed us it had arrived and was ready for collection at our time of choosing. Every time we have asked for advice or information, there has not been a single problem...from first enquiry for our telescopes right through to collection. A big thumbs up....👍

Contacted this firm with a view to buying a starter telescope (£300ish)for my son, was advised to see them at the Astrofest. Took ages to find a willing nerd, felt completely talked down too. I thought old fashioned shopkeeping like this was a thing of the past. If you can't invest a bit of enthusiasm for people starting out, good luck for the future.

Superb service, spoke to Simon who managed to complete a quick turnaround for a last minute order I placed for a dobsonian scope, delivered next day without any issues, with up to date delivery tracking information. Visiting Simon at his showroom was one of the best decisions I've made, as a beginner in Astrophotography. Simon was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions (and I asked quite a few, including very basic ones, which he did not get annoyed by, but rather patiently explained).

I knew I was in very good hands when Simon actively directed me away from more expensive, large aperture scopes (with equally large focal lengths), and gave me good suggestions on solid scopes for a beginner, especially given my interest in Deep Sky Astrophotography. I feel this is not something every seller would do for a customer, and as a result I felt I could trust him completely.

We ended up creating a COMPLETE BUILD from scratch, including everything I would need to get started in Astrophotography.
This included the rising star (pun intended) Askar 71F telescope, as well as the trusted HEQ5 Mount, and a powerful ASI2600 MC camera to boot.

I will be buying exclusively from The Widescreen Centre whilst I am in the UK, and that's a testament to their customer service.
I highly recommend giving Simon and Elena a shot for your next purchase.

P.S Visiting the showroom in the middle of beautiful Cambridgeshire is highly recommended (call to book appointment) The showroom looked amazing, and driving through the green countryside was a very nice experience after a stressful day at work.
