Very lucky to have a butchers shop a short walk away. It's ideal for local cooked pies and for hot sandwiches to go. The meats are always good, tasty and reasonably priced, but chicken pieces can be very hit and miss in regards to availability. Otherwise a great place for your shopping needs.

Pop on every now and again, the steak and gravy pies and sausage rolls that he gets from Taylor's are fantastic. The steaks are delicious and fresh.

Always fast and friendly service, just like his Dad used to offer to his customers.

Bought pork and mince pies to have over Christmas but disappointed in the quality. The pork ones were very average and I threw the mince ones in the bin. There was a thin layer of dry mince in them and all you could taste was salt

I will happily revoke my low review if I am wrong about this, but after having been here a couple of times I'm quite certain I'm being overcharged each time.

For example, a few weeks ago I bought:
*2 packets of pork scratchings
*10 rashers of bacon
*10 sausages
*4 slices of black pudding
*2 tins of beans (already labelled on tins as 89p)
*2 tins of broth (already labelled as £1.89)
*4 mince pies (which price I had queried and was told were £1.50 each)
*2 cottage pies (the same size as the mince pies)

This came to £33.85, and even after rounding-up guessed prices I still don't come near that price.
As I said, if I'm incorrect about my judgement of repeated over-charging then I will happily remove my review; perhaps some labels of price per weight would be useful to customers?

EDIT- I must add that this only happens when the two owners who are, I'm assuming, husband and wife, are serving.
