You are emailed a code to open a key box for the key to your room and a separate code for the main door. The lobby is OK but smells musty and needs a personal touch to make it more inviting. |On entering the room I was disappointed, It was terribly small and stated there would be a garden view. Instead we had a view of the car park and a metal container. it was just pure luck that the owner was on site, so I spoke to him and he up graded our room free of charge of which we were very grateful. however we could not use the bath as we're told there were problems with the boiler. The room could do with being updated and the shower wasn't great but it was comfortable. The most disappointing factor for me was there were no staff on site 24 hours a day, no functioning bar (even thought there is one) and no option for ANY food even though the sign says bed and breakfast! Basically u are paying for a no frills, no atmosphere, no contact, no real service, other than overpaying for a room which is situated on a main road. I've slept in a sunny days Inn next to the m5 and had a better view and less noise! So disappointing 😢

We stayed at Winston Manor on Saturday 9th October 2021. ||As described on the phone earlier today by the manager/owner himself 'this is a no-frills budget 'rooms only' place (since Covid), there is only one cleaner and me the basic handyman'. ||My description- This is a self-service/key box for room key, dated pitstop.||||We booked the ‘family suite’ for 2 adults and a 7-year-old. It was large and although a little musty smelling, looked clean. Our check in was 7pm, as this extended our time with family earlier in the day, on the assumption our daughter could 'fall into bed'. However, this was not the case due to, not only the sofa bed not being set up but no sheets/covers on the bedding left. The manager did arrive within half hour of calling him to deliver sheets (which he told me this is ‘gold star service’ for him to travel the 15 miles so we had sheets)! ||At the time he was apologetic and asked me to message, giving my bank details for a 'good bottle of wine' as an apology. I did this but nothing materialised. Plus, when calling him today I was told ‘I hardly look those e-mails, I get hundreds a day’.||||It was when he arrived to hand us the bed covers/sheets, we mentioned the curtains hanging off of the rail (see picture attached). After watching my husband clamber up the window to fix these, he did eventually fix them for us. ||Unfortunately, broken or fixed, this does not stop the night-time light display. Also see pictures attached of the changing, coloured lights, on a loop throughout the night – (pictures taken from lying in bed).||||Then, possibly the most disappointing aspect of our stay was the shower in the morning (or lack of it). I planned to have a shower with our daughter, as she is only 7 and the shower did not have an adjustable/removeable hose. I am now very glad I did, as we spent our 'shower' with me directing her to the other/tap end of the bath as the water was 'scolding', then so freezing cold she refused to get under it. There was no in-between. Until, there was no hot water at all. ||Now reading other reviews here, I see that the boiler was a known issue that we were not told about.||||In summary, we had to make our own bed up (after waiting for sheets), lack of/poor sleep due to window light show and no usable washing facilities. ||I would much rather support independent/local businesses over a chain. But I must admit, we were left feeling, at least you know what you will get with the latter.

Stayed here last night and you know what, it's not a bad place at all. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfy (slightly too soft for me).

It would have been nice to have the heating on in the room over night but I was warm enough under the quilt.

Unfortunately I didn't get the best night's sleep because of one of the other guests in a different room down the hall. She wouldn't stop screaming overnight. She woke me up at 10 to 6 this morning with even more crying.

I'd probably stay here again if I had to.

We stayed here after arriving back at Bristol airport at around 22:30/23:00 and didn’t want a long journey home.||It’s situated around 6 miles away from the airport so quite accessible and not too far away. ||After 4:30 in the afternoon they do contactless check in where they leave your key in a key box with a code and they give you the code before your arrival. We found this very easy to use.||The bed was nice and comfy but I found it a little hot in the night, felt like there may have been a winter quilt on the bed but still slept well.||We were unsure how to checkout the following morning so we placed the key back in the key box outside. ||Only negative is that I reckon the rooms could be done with an upgrade. It felt it was more of a dormitory than a room. Overall though it was a lovely stay ||I would stay here again.

Prearranged to arrive early but was met by a very rude cleaner telling us the room wasn't ready!
Room in desperate need of repair and modification. Whole hotel musky and dull.
Curtain half off wall then completely fell down when drawn.
Sofa bed in family room was in bad condition, very uncomfortable with stains on the mattress.
WiFi was awful, kept cutting out and very slow. Little to no mobile Internet or signal in the area so couldn't rely on that either.
Base of bath poorly repaired with silicone, half of tap missing. Shower barely dribbled out.
Coffee in room tasted awful and kettle full of limescale.
Just really disappointed with this hotel

We stopped here for one night as working in the area. A keycode entry. The room was ok with clean linen but the quilt desperately thin and the big radiator didnt work. We kept waking up because we were so cold. I messaged the owner Edd when we checked in to tell him but no response. I messaged again but still nothing. He left a comment after I left a review which was so insulting in was laughable. I would not recommend anyone stop here. This is the first negative review I have left. If the owner has this response I don't think he deserves to have a business.

Excellent place to stay when using Bristol airport. The hosts are cheerful friendly and helpful we went for breakfast late (our error) but instead of pointing this out we received our full breakfast (which was very tasty) including freshly made porridge. On our return journey as it was gone midnight our key was left out with full instructions and the lights left on to light our way. Will certainly stay here again excellent value for money.

We stayed here overnight before leaving for the airport. Lovely, comfy room. Andrew was more than helpful. Organised our taxi for us which made the whole experience more stress free. The free secure parking is an absolute bonus. Would stay here again without a doubt!
