Wonderland Bookshop

Such a brilliant bookshop and a very knowledgeable bookseller, has a great variety of books for all ages and is beautifully maintained and cared for. A great place to visit and a credit to Retford!

Absolutely amazing, stunning shop and such a lovely lady. The 1st time we came the kids were so excited, we went there on the train. The kids were exploring in the shop and the lady read my girl a book, it was so magical and the attention to detail is incredible. We came back for a 2nd visit and all 3 kids enjoyed their visit. I'm not local to Retford but I took the opportunity to visit the bookshop as I follow them on Twitter and the photos always look very enticing. The place is wonderful (you can't miss the table and chairs on the ceiling!) and the owner is very knowledgeable and she has great advice if you want some advice, as we did. Our son loved the books she recommended when we asked for something a bit more wordy as he seems to be veering in that direction - he's asking for Bunny and Bear almost every evening. I would definitely recommend it, it's more like shops used to be, where there was value in visiting in and of itself.

It’s like stepping into a wonderland. Brilliant book place with a wide variety of books for all ages. Bookkeeper was very knowledgeable and helped me find my favourite author. Would love for this place to develop into a bookshop/ cafe with the theme they have as it’s a very relaxing and would love to sit and read there.

I purchased some books for my dads birthday, and left a note asking (perhaps a little cheekily on my part) if it would be possible for the books to be wrapped before being put in their box, they arrived beautifully wrapped in gorgeous paper, I’ll absolutely be ordering from here again

Your fabulous establishment always restores my childish sense of wonder and even if I'm not popping in that day I always enjoy your window display on my way past. Having had excellent feedback on the subscriptions I gifted I have decided to treat myself to one and am very much looking forward to it! What a wonderful new addition to Retford. I have only just started going in here, but I am already finding books that my grandchildren are eager to read. What a breath of fresh air to see them reading rather than on their tablets! The advice I have received regarding the perfect book for the child’s age has been spot on. The books are new releases, so I know that my grandchildren have not yet read them. Let’s keep this shop going. We have lost too many good shops in Retford.

An absolute gem of a book store! Fantastic customer service and it is clear that they love what they do! Able to recommend books by age group with a clear and demonstrable knowledge of the books in their store! Outstanding.
