Staff here are racist and let me tell you why as a black man I came into this store with my two children and from the moment I walked in I was being followed from isle to to isle by the same person. Now as myself and the kids got to the till the manager stood at the door staring and so I placed the item on the till only to be served by the same guy who had seemingly been following us. Now here’s the good part it can be a busy store and most certainly around castle vale there are thief’s who actually look like thieves!!! Myself and my kids went for an experience which was nothing like on to for them which every child wants and of course a toy! So I got served rudely by the staff with no customer service and the manager then walked off! What is even more crazy I complained to the head department who replied with a petty response so I sent another email stating racial equality is not apparent in your store and what will they do to restore my kids experience. It is now 2 months later and still no response!! Not only is this upsetting but to know things like this get brushed aside now wonder this country is not moving forward or getting any better!

Visiting today to see baby items. A good range of equipment at the store, but we were blown away by the great customer service we received from Della, she was so patient with us and knowledgeable, explaining from the different variety strollers to cotts, we left feeling comfortable in what we needed and have made a brief list for our return.....Thank you Della ?

16/07/24 Just an update we did return and purchased, Cot, moses basket, travel system all bedding, bath. So if you don't want to waste any time Smyths is the ideal choice, Della was superb as usual ?

Customer service by the staff is horrendous. Asked a staff member what was in the goodie bags and she was so rude. The service is poor!

Went in to by our daughter who’s almost 3 a bike she’s every comfortable with a 14’’ but checked out a 16’’ first one staff member working in that department came over to us and we could smell the alcohol from his breath not professional at all and wouldn’t expect that at a Children store , he put so much pressure on us to try and get the smallest bike and not a14’’ I originally wanted, he was so rude to us ,so arrogant ,rolling his eyes shaking his head at us because I didn’t want to choose a smaller Bike. He made me and my partner feel uncomfortable so we headed to find another worker who came to assist us who was really helpful and made us feel valued and not like we was trash by the other guy . He then went over to the tills and informed to guy with no uniform on which I thought was a manager but seemed like he wasn’t fazed at all . People like that shouldn’t be working where kids will be coming if they are not happy to help or to talk politely to customers will never ever be returning. Your not valued as a customer or made to feel welcome who wasn’t happy to be assisting us at all. Tall guy with tattoos

A first for me in the UK really - bought a microphone karoake device for my son - used ONCE for a few minutes , my son didn't like it and I came back to exchange it with something else within 72 hours along with a receipt. Met a manager named Subhash - refused to exchange because a small package in the box (that contains the microphone) is ripped from the top. Found that incredibly amusing because to take the microphone out of the small package one has to open it up from the top!!. Extremely unhelpful and consumer unfriendly management. We've bought from Smyths elsewhere abundantly but never faced anything like this , or with other brands. I note quite a lot of 1 stars for this outlet and management. Unsurprised. Not going to this outlet again.

This toy store is an absolute rip off & I hope my fellow shoppers are aware of this scam & maybe boycott. I purchased a electric scooter for my daughter for Xmas for the price of £179.99 upon opening the box to assemble it I was immediately faced with problems , firstly it wouldn't charge the battery to full max , secondly it wouldn't move when the lever was pressed so took it back instore on castle vale hoping for refund only to be told the scooter has been tried and tested & it works now apparently , so I was refused a refund & they have the scooter so I'm out of pocket with my daughter upset about her Xmas gift. The duty manager on that day who refused me a refund was very arrogant & somewhat pleased when denying me a refund. Shameless , abnoxous & disgusting thieves. Please be aware of these scammers at smyths people & avoid making the same mistake I did. Take care all the decent people & have a great new year ?
