Tried to go here but the bouncer at the door really enjoyed a power trip of not letting me in - I’m a 35 year old south Asian woman and was with a group of white people so couldn’t help thinking they singled me out because of the colour of my skin. It’s 2024, Camden Head should know better. Shame on them. My white friends left the pub too because they also assumed they were being racist.

Bar staff short pour the spirits and when you give them the feedback they don’t care. Came across as frantic and rude even though it’s not that busy. Probably better pubs to go to nearby but we’re here for the comedy so not much choice in the alcohol department!

PS if you’re reading this from Weights and Measures give them a visit cheers

If I could give zero stars I would. Put it this way, if you expect the management to do anything about the racial profiling from the bouncers, don’t.

Being black at the Camden Head is apparently one of the worst crimes possible, because not even the black bouncers do anything to stop discrimination. The ‘head bouncer’ offered to ‘check the cameras’ to prove I was here 3 weeks ago (when I was profiled) and kick me out because I ‘had a mouth on me’ (in reference to sticking up for myself when being targeted amongst only white people).

Before re-entering (having been inside for 2+ hours), the ‘head bouncer’ said “don’t even try getting back in there, because it’s a no from me”. Although management claim they couldn’t possibly speak on something they weren’t present for, they refused to hear me out and were extremely dismissive.

When asked to provide a reason, the ‘head bouncer’ simply said ‘I don’t need to give you a reason’. Then proceeded to tell everyone in the queue, that if they spoke to us, they too would be refused entry.

Do not go here and expect a good time. The bouncers are on the greatest power trip, and management do nothing to eliminate racial profiling. I should have known after the first time and the other negative reviews, but was certain in 2024, this would not be happening.

A good old boozer, a bit shabby chic and a bit worn on the corners but honest and welcoming. The beer tastes good, although not one for the real ale drinkers. Everything is on keg. Still a solid street corner pub sporting a central island bar. A pleasant oasis from the turmoil of busy streetlife.

The pub was empty, but we still had to wait an hour for our burgers. They didn't tell us about the delay when we ordered, and they didn't even come to update us while we were waiting. When the sides finally arrived, they were cold, and they didn't even give us any cutlery. The whole smoke marketing thing is just a gimmick. They bring out a cosh filled with smoke when they serve the burgers, but the burgers themselves don't taste like they've been cooked with any smoke.

The manager was nice enough when we complained. He offered us a free pint, which was something at least. But I would have rather had hot food that came on time.

And what's up with the bar stool in front of the urinal? Who thought that was a good idea? Only someone who's confident enough to take a sitting pee in public, I guess.

I don't blame the staff who were working that night. They were doing their best with what they had. The problem is with the senior management. They didn't give the staff enough training or resources to do their jobs properly.

The worst bar experience I’ve ever had in my life. The bouncers acted in a homophobic manner by throwing out my two obviously queer friends for no reason, and then barring anyone else who “associated with them” from entering. If you want a good night, go elsewhere!

Was doing a pub crawl of Camden, it was a cold and rainy London Feb afternoon, this place stole my heart, the fireplace and ambiance mostly the warmth being from Florida in the us. My favorite pub so far in London, they even charged my phone for me as I enjoyed a pint. Well worth
the visit
