Bad customer service - Over priced - Aggressive - Buy elsewhere!

I went it to buy some superglue gel. Explained the applicator style I needed.Then even after explaining tried to convince me to buy the wrong type and tube size for £9.99 (two small tubes).

I told him it was over priced. He the took off a £1 and I reminded him its the wrong applicator type and still over priced. I walked away he came out of the shop asking me what the cheaper price was. I told him i am not exactly sure of the price, but it must be cheaper than his offer. I walked across the road to the hardware store, picked up the glue that I needed for £3 less. I went back and showed him the receipt I took the time to mention that if wants to price match for future customers, then that would be his new starting point. He then got mad, tried to say it was the same. Then said I was a liar about what i had asked for. Then when I showed him the applicator was different his brain shut off into an aggressive tone.

I should have seen this coming. The owner was trying to coerce / arguing with a customer just as i got there about getting a receipt.

A man, who I presume was the owner of this shop, tried to charge me £3 for an empty cardboard box he would have otherwise recycled. I managed to haggle him down to £2. I worked out on the way home it was packaging for a bong, so couldn't really post the shoes I'd sold on Vinted in it.
I have since realised I got swindled, and have collected many cardboard boxes for free from other local businesses. Lesson learned.

Excellent shop. Lots of useful things. They’ve been a life saver as we’ve been moving - loads of boxes and bags of the appropriate size. The gentleman running it upsells somewhat but we haven’t minded as it’s stood us in good stead.
