If you check my profile, you can see I don't give bad reviews and I always try to give the highest rating possible, having worked myself in hospitality and facing customers for over 7 years, I know how hard it is.But the customer service I've just received was horrible.
I came to the store because I was feeling poorly and went to buy some Lemsip. As I saw they had an offer if you have the Superdrug card, which I do, I grabbed two boxes. I also saw an offer for another medicine I use with the card; and in some Pantene products I've wanted to try for a while, so I got all the items because of the offers. The total of my shop was supposed to be £33.92. When I got to the till, none of the offers were pulling through and they wanted to charge me around £50. I explained that with the card, the prices were different. They asked colleagues on the intercom how much were the items I was asking, and even though they asked and I explained, they kept charging me wrong and they kept inputting wrong prices on the till when they were choosing the Override price option. The first lady that served me, just stopped serving me and started serving another customer without telling me 'sorry, my colleague is going to take over'. The other lady also charged me wrong, and kept inputting wrong prices. My partner was with me, and I asked him to go and check the prices for everything, as they couldn't figure out the prices themselves even though they were asking through the intercom and when I said some of the prices, they would deny it and tell me I was wrong. All the time they kept an attitude like I was trying to pull a scam on them, which I don't understand. My partner came back with pictures of the products and the labels, and I showed them to them, I did the sum of all the items on my phone calculator and explained the price of every single item and showed them the sum. They kept putting things wrong and becoming more and more frustrated, and they started to be rude to me. Two of the girls working were taking over, one of them stayed on the till and the other one went to check the prices herself. One of the items she checked, she checked the price wrong, and when we pointed it out, they denied it to me, I showed them the picture and they didn't want to look at it, they would keep being rude and they had to go to check the price for a second or third time. All the time I remained calm and I wasn't rude or said anything offensive to them, but they were rude to me, they started whispering in front of our faces and telling other colleagues they needed a break because they were with an 'annoying customer', and they were laughing at us. Please, bear in mind as I said on the beginning, I was feeling poorly and even through I was feeling ill they just kept being horrible to me. They finally inputted all prices right, and the lady that took the order said HAPPY NOW? in a really cocky way, I couldn't bother to reply, I just wanted to get out of there. The whole process took over 20 minutes. 20 minutes to just input some prices correctly. I understand the till might not be detecting the offers, but it's not the customer's fault, and I feel they should have been apologetic, but instead they kept acting like I was trying to rob them and they were extremely rude. I left the store at 19:38 today, 05/09/2023, so you can check who was working. The three ladies were bad, but especially the one that took the order. In the receipt it says her name was 'Anika' but as I was served by three of them, not sure if that's her name. The story doesn't end here, though. When I got home, I put all the items from my bag and realized one of the Lemsip boxes was damaged on one of the sides and when I took it, it felt really light. I opened it and there were only 3 sachets inside instead of 10. I thought about coming back to the store to ask for an exchange or a refund, but after spending 20 minutes for them to just charge me the correct price, I know they won't do anything about it. Not sure how it happened, I probably didn't realize but the items were moved around a lot.
