Staffs are underpaid. Modern slavery £4 an hour. Police needs to be called to this store to investigate modern slavery by Mr Ravi. Shame on you.

I’ve shopped here a few times during the pandemic and have found everyone in the shop very pleasant and helpful but today was the complete opposite.

I had tried to exchange an item I had bought the previous day, as I had forgotten to take a receipt, I wasn't sure if this would be possible but the manager said this wouldn't be a problem which I really appreciated. While this was getting exchanged I mentioned some fabric I had also purchased the previous day,as when I got home I and realised there were multiple snags it . I'm aware that usually cut fabric can not be returned but as there were defects in it I wanted to see if anything could be done.

It was at this point the manager started raising his voice and explaining how I should have noticed this the day before when it was getting cut and that I could have made the snags myself. I had only simply asked about it on the off chance, but from this point I could not get a word in edgeways to even just say forget about the fabric. At this point the whole shop was listening and out of exasperation I asked the manager if he could not be so aggressive.

It was the wrong word to use and one I apologised for after it but I had been so overwhelmed from the fact that such a scene was being created out of something so small. It was at this point a customer got involved and started saying I was in the wrong to call him aggressive to which I agreed and apologised for. At this point I uncharacteristically burst into tears, I was offered a seat and a glass of water but I just wanted to finish the exchange and my other purchase so I could leave, as I felt truly humiliated.

I am all for supporting local businesses and and very rarely leave a bad review, but I had such an unpleasant visit.

There is no sense of customer service here as the staff extremely unhelpful and the manager is rude. He falsely claimed that we had previously had an incident with police involved, which is false & insensitive for him to accuse and not apologise about. I understand it's hard to differentiate people's faces as everybody is wearing masks, however, his attitude and behaviour was unacceptable. Furthermore, he refused to exchange the yarn we wanted to switch colours of with his reasoning that "it is underweight" despite informing him that we have not used the yarn as it was the incorrect colour. He remained arrogant & unwilling to help. I will not be returning to this store in future.

(Owner’s response below is incoherent ~ he yelled at me and asked me to be grateful when he missed my hand when I went to paid... continued to say ‘be grateful yeah’ aggressively... and instead of passing me fresh change - he refused). Read the reviews below to understand others experience of his ‘customer service’ 🙂 I love MANY local places, but this place needs to shut down ASAP). Also note he BANS anyone with a negative review haha, rather pathetic. Petition to close store please?

Never met a more obnoxious and rude man. Behind the till ~ guy with the red turban. Will not be shopping here again. Ever. Recommend going to the numerous other discounts stores, with lovely customer service.

I used to come here regularly but from today I will never use this shop again. I purchased a frame and by the time I arrived home (I live literally around the corner) I realised that the glass was broken. I didn’t even take the frame out of the carton, only lifted a corner to check, but it was clearly broken and not usable. I took it back with the receipt and asked for an exchange. I was initially said that is was ok but then the owner of the shop intervened and claimed that they are always careful with their products and hence I must have broken the glass (!!!) I gently highlighted that I had only just bought the item and hadn’t even had the time to take it out the box. I also reminded them that I am (was) a regular costumer and had no interest in getting money back, all I wanted was an unharmed frame! But the owner of the shop categorically refused to exchange the item and continued to claim that it was my fault (!!!). At some point he suggested that I buy another frame at reduced price, which I found ridiculous. In the end I left with no frame but I let them know that I was very offended by the way I was treated. I try to use local shops as much as possible but situations like this one make me want to go on Amazon instead.

We found that the staff were extremely rude and pushy. They were not friendly and they gave the impression that it was an effort to give us some simple advice. They were also constantly trying to up sell to us even though we had no desire for these extra products. We left feeling ripped off

Lived in the area for 20 years and the men who run this store are the most horrid, awful and rude people I have ever met. Please avoid at absolutely all costs.
